Jérémy Henry l'a masterisé.

Anthony Barruel (batteur depuis 2015)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hello everyone 😀

The idea of making a symphonic piece for anasazi had been in my head for quite a few years. . .
When Matthieu Vermorel joined anasazi on bass in March 2023, he made me listen to productions he had made for video games and short films and there I offered him to do a symphonic version of "shine a light" for Christmas 2023.
I started this without thinking that such a level of detail and beauty would be achieved. It really is sublime!
I spend the long hours he spent programming and arranging all his strings, brass, percussion, wood etc. . . . but that's the life of a musician you'll tell me 🎶🎵
I composed a small intro to introduce the orchestra before the song starts and so it took shape in 3 big months between October and December 2023.

Tristan gave us a very nice guitar solo of which he has the secret and mixed the song. Jeremy Henry mastered it.

anasazi was only a small project of 2 tracks, which was to remain confidential for about ten people for the birthday of co-founder Frédéric Thévenet and before the return of this first EP "at the end of my new world part I" in 2004, we offered it for free to more people via the TDOE forum for example and others afterwards and on our website.

With anasazi, I have never had any other ambition than to make myself happy by making my music and paying homage to those I admire and love.
This project is my baby, I have been carrying it for 20 years with only one guideline, to produce the best album possible every time at our level.
I have no other ambition, except to offer the best version of the band for every album or record, with sincerity, honesty and humility.
No career plan, I don't care.
Just write songs as best as I can and have fun with the band.
"shine a light" is about that, it's the only positive song I've written in 20 years. To have Music as an ally, friend, confidant, enemy sometimes also. . .
For the 20th anniversary of Anasazi, here on February 22, 2024, day to day, 20 after the birth of this project in 2004, "shine a light (symphonic version 2024)" to say thank you for being there and for your support since all this time, close, very close or far. . .

In short, I'm not going to do the history of the group but, I'm going to thank all the people who took part in anasazi, during these 20 years, and who brought their stone to the building, chronologically, trying not to forget anyone 🙂

Frédéric Thévenet (guitarist from 2004 to 2005)
Christophe Blanc-tailleur (bass player from 2005 to 2020)
Romain Bouqueau (keyboardist from 2007 to 2011)
Christophe Letizia (drummer from 2010 to 2011)
Sébastien Garsia (lead guitar from 2010 to 2014)
Delphine Polet (choirs on "PoP" in 2011 and "TyS" in 2014)
Benjamin Dupré (keyboardist from 2012 to 2013)
Anna Tabailloux (voice-off on "HlTf" in 2012 and "C&C" in 2023)
Jean Rosset (drummer from 2012 to 2014)
Stéphane Albanese (keyboard player 2013 to 2014)
Bruno Saget (lead guitarist from 2014 to 2024)
Julie Barruel (choirs on "AtD" in 2018)
Anthony Barruel (drummer since 2015)
and Matthieu Vermorel for this symphonic arrangement of "shine a light" which I find magnificent. 🙏

then thanks to Pince aka Eric Planson for the website www. anasazi-prog. com from 2006 to 2015.
thanks also to Jérôme 'ArioN' Bourdelot for the artwork of "the principles of “[hate]" in 2006

and a huge THANK YOU to Grégory Migeon for all the artworks from "origin(s)" from 2008 until today.

thanks also to Tristan Klein for his majestic solos on "C&C" and this song and the long hours of mixing and musical and material discussions.

and finally thanks to my mother, Marie Françoise Madani who helped me financially produce "the principles of “[hate]" back in 2006 when my finances were more shy.

I wish you beautiful music with this "shine a light" (symphonic version 2024"

lyrics

standing in the sand
waiting for a sign
when it drowns in the river
and the shadows arrive

helpless on the shore
whatever it takes
remember all that matters
and a smile on her face

dreams never burn
only love guides us all
along the night
broken hearts will move on

when the world is over

shine a light
light up our eyes
into the night
even blind we can see

will you stay forever ?

days are getting cold
newborn in my hand
feel the sadness around
i've been waiting for you

escape from this life
echoes in my mind
without committing myself
i will wait for this sign

dreams never burn
only love guides us all
along the night
broken hearts will move on

when the world is over

shine a light
light up our eyes
into the night
even blind we can see

will you stay forever ?

shine a light
light up the way
in through the night
only darkness remains

but my dream's not over

shine a light
i was blind now i can see

dreams never burn
only love guides us all
along the night
broken hearts will move on

when the world is over ?

shine a light
light up our eyes
into the night
even blind we can see

will you stay forever ?

shine a light
light up the way
in through the night
only darkness remains

but my dream's not over

shine a light
i was blind now i can see

shine a light
on my life
will you stay tonight

everyday
forever
lighting up my life

shine a light on you
will you stay forever

shine a light on you
will this last forever

lighting up my...life
